Today's Lace Is Being Reimagined
Not only are we seeing it in fashion but the trend continues to wallpaper, shoes, furniture, notecards, place mates, rugs
pillows, fencing, wheelbarrows and shovels.
I love the way this shows the new insight on how we can create unique
things from a design that has been around for centuries.
I KNOW...Really!

There's Toile and There Is Richard Saja's "Embroidered" Toile!
Artist Richard Saja manipulates pre-existing historical scenes printed on fabric known as toile, by threading colorful floss over and around the people and creatures inhabiting them. As a blend of humor and delightfully odd imaginings, the work carries the weight of the past within its foundations while new skins of magic, freak shows, circus clowns and odd couplings brighten the compositions and infuse it with a sincere beauty. View more of the intriguing works below.
Have a "colorful" weekend!

Artist- Ann Carrington
her installation in the W Hotel.
Watch the video.
Be prepared to be amazed.
I first became aware of Ann as an artist
by watching- Bravo's TV Show- "9 by Design"
and seeing her art used in some of their projects.
I love how she uses all sorts of materials to put together
a special piece of art.

In this installation she uses coconut husks on a wood frame
to create the horses.
Check out Anne's website-anncarrington to see more wonderful art.

Take 2 - A Quick Sneak Peek At Michelangelo's- David
I am going to try this post again.
My video didn't show up, so here it is one more time.
This amazing Renaissance sculpture was created between
1501 and 1504. It is 17 feet high and is in the
Accademia Gallery in Florence, Italy.
AND.....I took the video.
The statue represents the Biblical hero, David. Originally it was commissioned as one of a series of statues to be place along the roofline of the Florence Cathedral.
Instead it was placed outside in Palazzo della Signoria in 1504. In 1873 it was moved inside the Accademia Gallery and a replica was put in its place outside.
